Howard County Referee In-Service Clinics

Monthly In-Service Clinics

    • The next monthly session will be on Monday February 20, 2012.  These clinics are expected to run each month and cover topics and situations facing referees officiating games locally in Maryland. The clinics will run from 7pm to 9pm and the two hours (2) will count toward the annually required five (5) to recertify. All  Referees are encouraged to attend and every referee in Maryland is invited. Terry Miller and Craig Proffen will be some of the Instructors. We welcome your input on the topics you would like most to have covered. The next session will be held on Monday February 20, 2012 with the topic coming from your email requests to Craig Proffen. The tentative dates for the next few clinics will be February 20, March 19, April 16, May 21, 2012. Future locations to be announced via the Referees Yahoo Group based on facilities the USSF Instructors can secure. Referees Note: Referees who need to recertify can no longer attend an Entry Level Course to get their required hours &/or to take the exam. Space is limited to ONLY those who have registered and paid the Course Fee.

    • Remember, all USSF Licensed Referees need to recertify yearly participating in at least five (5) hours of In-Service Training and successfully passing a written exam. The exam for recertification is now a new separate exam and is different then the entry level exam. This new recert exam is a full 105 questions all referees will be responsible to write out Law 12 as the last five questions. Started with the 2012 Recertification, USSF Referees will take the Recert Exam Online before attending a Recert Clinic. A copy of the Exam Certificate and Online Payment of 2012 Annual Dues (paid at: www.ussoccer.info) must be brought to the Recert Clinic for referees to complete recertifcation and get their 2012 Badge.

    • These 2012 In-Service Training Clinics held in  Howard County count toward your required hours for 2012. These Howard County Monthly In-Service Training Clinics will be held on the Third Monday of the month from 7pm to 9pm. The location for past sessions & expected future sessions will be Northrop Fields at Covenant Park in the SAC/HC Administration Building 4560 Centennial Lane off Route 108 Ellicott City, Maryland. To register for the training referees need to send an email to Craig Proffen with "Howard County In-Service Clinic" as the subject. REFEREES MUST PRE-REGISTER VIA EMAIL AS SPACE IS LIMITED. Referees with any special needs should make those requests in their email.
