5-  Report Sheets & Pen/Pencil                                           
6-  SMILE & Proper Dress                                      
7-  Snack
8-  Sun Tan Lotion
9-  Rain Gear
10-Dry Shirt (Alternate Color)
11-Chair
12-Cell Phone (if available)


ARRIVAL:
          **NO LESS THAN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO FIRST GAME TIME
 

1-                 Properly Dress (Shirt tucked in, socks pulled up & even, badge on)

2-                 Check Field (Glass, Rocks, Sticks, Dog Mess)

3-                 Check Goals/Nets & Corner Flags/Cones

4-                 Introduce Yourself to Coach(es) – Report Sheet

5-                  Check Players Equipment (SAC Uniform, Shin Guards, Shoes) **NO JEWELRY including Starter Posts**

6-                 Repeat Steps 4 & 5 with Opposing Team

7-                 Check Ball(s)

8-                 Coin Toss (Winner decides which goal to attack, other team gets kick off first half)

 

“LAWS OF THE GAME” & RULES OF PLAY

 

Law 1 – Field of Play:                         - Report any poorly lined fields or dangerous conditions.

-         Report IMMEDIATELY Fields closed due to weather.

 

Law 2 – The Ball:                              - Check multiple balls for fields where the ball could get lost/delayed.

 

Law 3 – Number of Players:                        - Remember 7 v 7 minimum number is 6.

- Substitutions Unlimited on ANY Goal Kick, ANY Kick Off, Own Teams Throw-in, 1 for 1 on ANY Injury or Cautioned Player.

-         Injuries: Go IMMEDIATELY to injured player and check on welfare (Stop play if player indicates moderate/severe pain. Offer help getting up without pulling player, let them use your arm/hand to pull).

 

Law 4 – Players Equipment:                   - SAC/HC Uniform – Note those not wearing correct shirt (# 5 above).

 

Law 5 – Referee:            - YOU ARE IN CHARGE! Act professional! Blow whistle loud enough so everyone hears and then briefly explain your call.

 

Law 6 – Assistant Referee:            - Club Linesmen Only. Talk directly to them and explain what you expect or what. DO NOT have them call “Offside” or “Fouls”.

 

Law 7 – Duration of Game:            - Varies based on League Rules. Always includes a five (5) minute Half Time Period.

 

Law 8, 9, 10:                                        - FIFA.

 

Law 11 – Offside:            - FIFA. Explain to coaches, position vs. involvement & difficulty to call.

 

Law 12- Fouls & Misconducts:            - Explain your call briefly and loud enough so everyone hears. Watch for kicking, tripping and elbows even though the player may have been trying to get the ball.

-         Referee has the Authority to Caution & Send-Off ANY Player, Coach or Spectator/Parent. (Must show card for SAC Rec, NCSL, WAGS, CMSSL)

 

Law 13- Free-Kicks:                          - FIFA. Make sure the kicker gets the required distance unless fast restart.

 

Law 14 - Penalty Kicks:              - FIFA.

 

Law 15 - Throw-Ins:                               - Don’t be real picky. Lets get the ball back into play.

 

Law 16 – Goal Kick:                            - FIFA. Move ball forward if they are unable to get out of penalty area.

 

Law 17 – Corner Kick:            - FIFA. Watch for second touch offside. No retakes if it goes directly across goal line.

 
 

ARRIVAL HOME:

 

1-     Take off dirty cleats and socks or muddy gear.

2-     Put patch, pen/pencil, coin, whistle, and record book into zip lock bag.

3-     Complete any required Referee Reports and Send to Proper Authority.

4-     Email Craig Proffen or Terry Miller with any questions, concerns or problems at you matches.
